Receiving Prophetic Word Going to New York

April 13, 2018 by Dale Jensen 4 Comments

WORD OF THE ONE WHO

HOLDS THE KEYS TO THIS BROKEN LAND

The background of this word came from the Lord as I was flying from North Carolina to New York, to minister at Saratoga Abundant Life Church, in Saratoga Springs, New York. the day was April 5, 2018.

I intended to put music on in the plane and go to sleep. After not seeping much for a number of days I knew I really need the rest. I felt directed by the Hoy spirit to put the sound track to the movie “The Last Samurai” on and settle in to go to sleep when just after the first song ended the Holy Spirit told me to take out my iPhone and start writing. I attempted to disagree with the Lord’s instruction, claiming my keyboard on my iPhone had small keys and I had fat fingers, but the Lord was not changing his mind or my instructions.

Being Fathered by God

April 13, 2018 by Dale Jensen No Comments

Helping men discover a meaningful relationship with God has always been a passion of mine, ever since finding Christ myself in 1969. So many of us men have grown up without good role models, let alone our fathers teaching us what it is to be a man. There are a lot of boys walking around in men’s bodies today.

I came across a book the other day, which I found very helpful in explaining why men are so confused and twisted inside, but also how to get straightened out in our thinking to finally find the life we were meant to live with God and others. The book is called “Fathered By God” by John Eldredge.

I have not always been a fan of John Eldridge, for a number of reasons, however this book I found exceptionally good. Maybe it’s where I am today in my walk with God, or maybe it’s just that this book is very good, either way its a great read especially the first part of the book. To be honest, the first few chapters ripped by heart open to some old wounds from my youth. Thank God for good writers and the Holy Spirit speaking.

What Kind Of Person Am I?

March 22, 2018 by Melanie No Comments

For most of us, the honest ones, we want to be taken by others as being people of our word. We want people to treat us as having value that is more than skin deep and really dependable. But what makes a person of character is a person who says what they mean and mean what they say.

Because of being wide awake at 11pm last night, I watched a film I have seen before called, “Hacksaw Ride”. The film focuses on the World War II experiences of Desmond Doss, an American pacifist combat medic who, as a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, refused to carry or use a weapon or firearm of any kind. Doss became the first conscientious objector to be awarded the Medal of Honor, for service above and beyond the call of duty during the Battle of Okinawa. He saved 75 men who were left for dead because of two major foundations in his life.

Loving Others as Christ Loved Us

February 10, 2017 by Melanie No Comments

Loving Others as Christ Loved Us

When we become Christ followers, God begins a “Remodeling” process to change how we think and live.

One of the first areas He starts to work in is our thinking because our thinking sets the course of our action.

This is why reading and meditating on Scripture is so vital to the process and success of our transformation. Without the steady impute of “What & How” God thinks we will never realize the transformation Jesus is truly after.

This brings me to the scripture I am meditating on this morning in Mark 3:1-5

Thinking Critically

February 1, 2017 by Melanie No Comments

I am amazed at how few people today can’t or won’t use their God-given ability to think through problems honestly.

We use to teach in our schools, how to think clearly and rationally, to solve life’s problems. The ability of reason to solve problems is not something that comes naturally, but must be taught. I fear that in both k-12 and college and universities, students are taught “What” to think instead of how to think.

Today kids and adults are told they “Deserve” certain rights in life. That life should automatically be fair and make us happy. If you are awake you know by experience that’s a lie!
