Do We Despise Brokenness ?

November 11, 2024 by Dale Jensen 1 Comment

Today we often hear in church that God wants to heal our broken heart but have we ever thought God might want our hearts broken instead? Is it possible that God requires a brokenness in our souls in order for us to be truly healed? In scripture we often get confused when understanding how and when God restores us and thus we may in fact fight against the process He designed for our own restoration.

Is Healing In The Atonement? (Part 3)

August 26, 2024 by Dale Jensen No Comments

In this third and final article on healing and the atonement I want to to conclude with the passage in 2 Peter 24-25 as Peter references the passage used previously in Isaiah 53, typically used as the text for the purpose of Jesus coming to earth to save humanity from sin. This now is the third article on healing, so if you have not read parts 1 and 2, please do so before reading this final one, as they are built on each other.

Is Healing In The Atonement? (Part 2)

August 19, 2024 by Dale Jensen No Comments

In the first article on healing I talked in great detail about God designing our bodies to self heal and without that design no doctors or medicines would be able to heal us. Secondly, I talked about being in harmony with God in order for his additional blessing in our healing process.  Many Christians today have been taught to confess that they are healed when they are walking contrary to how God intended. Confession is a positive element in healing as long as we are walking as God intended. If you have not read the first article, I suggest you do so because I laid out a foundation for how I will proceed with this topic.

Is Healing In The Atonement? (Part 1)

August 12, 2024 by Dale Jensen No Comments

Let me start this topic with a couple of simple beliefs that I have: First, I believe God heals people, plain and simple. Second, I do not believe healing is in the atonement, but rather it is God’s design and desire to heal us prior to the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.

Consider The Words You Use

August 5, 2024 by Dale Jensen No Comments

s

I have learned over my years of walking with the Lord that I have often spoken truth, but not always at the right time. I also have learned that I have spoken out of frustration rather than out of wisdom. I am amazed that God uses people like me and you, who, more often than not, use words poorly that end up hurting our pursuits rather than helping them. The words we speak can end up cutting people rather than healing them. This does not mean we should never use “Tough Words,” but we should seek the guidance of God and not just act out in a fleshly way.

Have You Ever Wondered What Your Calling Is?

January 29, 2024 by Dale Jensen No Comments

I have been a believer for over 50 years and I have heard a lot of teachings and sermons on receiving a “CALLING” from God.  I think most of those teaching have been about some type of ministry calling yet rarely are they on what Jesus meant when referring to the idea of calling. In my estimation, Jesus rarely talked about ministry calling and almost exclusively talked about the calling that God presents to mankind for relationship.

Walking in the Spirit & Overcoming the Demonic (Part 4)

November 6, 2023 by Dale Jensen No Comments

This is the fourth article on walking in the Spirit dealing with the specific topic of demonic activity. We have covered a lot of ground and yet the subject of the demonic is so vast I have just scratched the surface. In this article, the last in the series, I intend to talk about how we can challenge demonic spirits, which the Bible calls evil spirits. There are many books on deliverance and this article is not intended to be exhaustive. It is meant to highlight the main struggles when trying to set people free from the demonic.

Walking in the Spirit and Dealing With The Demonic (Part 2)

October 23, 2023 by Dale Jensen No Comments

I started out the first article talking about the “Demonic Realm” for a number of reasons. Primarily because most professing Christians rarely, if ever, mention the subject when talking about spiritual matters. But Jesus capitalized on casting out demons wherever he went.

Why We Fear Closeness

September 13, 2023 by Dale Jensen 2 Comments

People who build close friendships experience great pain because it’s part of the package of friendship. When you build deep connections with people there is always the potential of being wounded by them, or the loss when they are gone. Every person we build friendships with will suffer loss because we all are destined to die. Physical death causes great pain if there was also great love connected with that relationship. It shows the value we attributed to that life. What’s worse is if the friendship we built over time ends up betraying our trust and then the loss is doubly painful.

Shame Is The Tool of The Enemy

August 28, 2023 by Dale Jensen No Comments

Many Christians who believe in the forgiveness of Christ often struggle with guilt and shame, even after coming to a saving experience in Christ. Shame is that awful thing that hinders our trust in the Lord and becomes a roadblock to intimacy with God. In a previous article, I dealt with guilt, but in this article I want to deal with the fruit of guilt, which is shame. Shame is the emotional feeling that can stop our development emotionally, physiologically and practically as we seek to develop our God given abilities. If a person has unresolved guilt, or what I call “Shadow” guilt, shame chains us to our yesterday.
