How We Serve God Matters

July 8, 2024 by Dale Jensen No Comments

One thing I discovered studying the scripture over the years is that when considering Jesus Christ and his offer to be my sacrifice for my sin it is clear there would be an exchange. I would be exchanging my way of life for his and that meant appreciating who and what he has done and will do in my life.

Will The Pressures of Life Squeeze You?

April 29, 2024 by Dale Jensen 1 Comment

When you give your life to Christ you lose some, if not all, of the friends you had in the world prior to your conversion because you choose to live for something other than yourself and the pleasures of this world. What we often don’t expect is losing friends afterwards, who are followers of Jesus as well. Losing Christian friends can happen because life is not static but always in motion and our relationships, even in Christ, can suffer because we change or our friend changes, both in biblical understanding and in the resolution of offenses.

Hard Sayings of Scripture (Part 1)

April 8, 2024 by Dale Jensen No Comments

If you find some things in scripture that are hard to swallow, or hard to apply, you are not alone. I have walked with God since 1969 and still find some things difficult that God calls me to do or believe. Some things cause me to outright argue with God or at least invoke in me desire to avoid them. Why? Because my salvation is still in progress and God is not through helping me to get a Kingdom mindset rather than a selfish worldly one. This leads me to voice a concern I have with modern preaching and teaching in the body of Christ.

So How Is Our Heart Really Changed?

March 25, 2024 by Dale Jensen No Comments

If you gave your life to Christ your heart had to go through a transformational process where you changed from wanting to live for your self-interest to wanting to please God as your top priority. If your heart didn’t change salvation was never truly realized regardless how many times you prayed the sinner’s prayer. After all, God is more interested in transformation than he is in just forgiveness.

Do We Consider Others Weakness?

March 11, 2024 by Dale Jensen No Comments

I think when we consider acting in love towards others we think about what act of kindness we could demonstrate towards them or for them, but should we, or could we, be looking at only certain obvious aspects of what it means to love others? What about things we “DON”T SEE” in others that call us to extend or demonstrate God’s love to people who may appear undeserving? What if they appear to have a weakness of faith, should we love them in spite of that weakness?

What Defines Good or Bad Values?

March 4, 2024 by Dale Jensen 1 Comment

Some people want to believe that a belief in God is not necessary in order to have good morals. They believe their morals are correct because they want to believe them regardless of whether these morals are based on something more solid than just their feeling. Thinking God is necessary to help us construct good morals is different than thinking that God exists. Remember, Satan believes God exists but he and the other fallen angles don’t live or exist with any morality other than to steal, kill and destroy. (John 10:10)

How Reliable Are We?

January 15, 2024 by Dale Jensen No Comments

I wonder how the people we know think or view us? Do they think we are reliable people or would they think we are just “TALKERS” and not doers? As Christians we should be the most reliable people around, but I fear more than not that believers are getting sloppy in the area of reliability.

A Fresh Look At Faith

December 18, 2023 by Dale Jensen No Comments

Reading the account of the birth of Jesus I think we look at the story through our own life perspective and miss the truly humbling circumstances in which Mary and Joseph fulfilled the will of God. Then they had to deal with the circumstances of both poverty and the hatred of the government through king Herod.

When Form Takes Over For Substance

December 4, 2023 by Dale Jensen No Comments

When I look at the landscape of how people think and act these days, for both non Christians as well as Christians, there seems to be a disconnect between what a person believes or feels and what are the plain facts before them. People don’t seem to be bothered by the inconsistencies in their lives, let alone in the lives of those around them. It seems people just get entrenched in certain lines of thinking without asking themselves if the things they believe are true or false. Maybe we just hate the idea of finding out that we are wrong about something and thus don’t want to know our error.

Do We Have Spiritual Children?

November 13, 2023 by Dale Jensen No Comments

I know this question for some people seems foreign, but the idea of spiritual children is not a new concept for the body of Christ. It is an old concept but many in the church have never heard what it means to have people look to them as a spiritual parent. Although God is the one that enables a person to be “Born Again,” others in the body of Christ should take on the responsibility and care to raise individuals in their walk with God.
