When we open our eyes to the beauty of the earth around us, we can start to get a glimpse of the possibility of our own potential.

To many times people and circumstances loudly yell at us that we are so flawed that the best we can hope for is hanging on to life to get the best we can from the ride of life rather than developing our potential. Parents, friends, teachers and strangers may not have noticed our potential, yet God has deposited so much raw potential for us and others to develop. Satan wants us to believe we will never amount to much. Unfortunately many have been drinking from his lies instead of drinking from the waters of life in Christ.

John 4:10 (NLTSE)Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”

When I was in high school, I was involved in all kinds of art classes. One in particular was a painting class. My normal “MO” was to bluff my way though school, but in this particular class the teacher had my number and he refused to let me skate. He forced me to push myself beyond my comfort zone to discover I had an ability to be creative with paint!

He believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. He pushed me to see color on a canvas before I put my brush on it. He helped me see color and shape in my mind when I thought there was nothing there.

Today, God is trying to get us to see beyond what’s in front of us. He wants us to see what He is doing so we can produce amazing things we thought impossible. Could today be that day?

When Jesus was talking to his disciples one day, he was trying to get them to see beyond themselves. He reveals to them how He, Jesus, can do such amazing things. He speaks to them about “seeing” what the Father is doing and thus is able to do like wise. He spoke this to say we need to see what Father God is doing in order to do the same.

John 5:19 (NLTSE)So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by Himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does.

So what if today we were able to see what God is doing in the spirit? Would it motivate our trust in the Holy Spirit to believe for more than what we see naturally? Or would we just play it safe and do “normal” things?

What if we expanded our ability to trust that the Holy Spirit was already working creative things in our lives because we knew God is still doing creative things in nature and that includes us? Wouldn’t we expect a greater flow of creative ability in ourselves because we are trusting this same wonderful Creator?

Ephesians 2:19-21 (NLTSE)
So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.
[20] Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself.
[21] We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.

Let God do something “New” in your heart with regards to leveraging who God made you to be and trust the power of the Holy Spirit.

Love growing closer to our Heavenly Father together.
