Today is the day after Christmas.  All the presents have been opened and we are all aware of how blessed we are. I wonder if we can hear the Holy Spirit speaking a word to us all? Although we celebrate the birth of Christ on December 25th, God in heaven celebrates Jesus coming to Earth as a baby every day because every day someone somewhere is turning their lives over to the love of God and being born again. Each day the Father in Heaven celebrates the sacrifice of his son and the monumental thing he did by yielding his authority as the Son of God, who made the universe and all it contains, in order to make a way for each and every soul to be redeemed.

Philippians 2:5-8

5Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had. 6Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. 7He made himself nothing; he took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. 8And in human form he obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal’s death on a cross.

During the month of December more people around the world have heard, at least in music, that God loves them and sent his only Son as a baby to redeem them. I don’t think we realize the impact that our celebration has caused in the spirit realm. Yes, people focus on buying presents and shopping but there is also tremendous generosity and kindness stirred up during this time of year. Is this spirit of generosity changing hearts for God?  The Holy Spirit moves behind the scenes of our perception and is rarely revealed to us.  Like Elisha of old, I pray we get a glimpse into the activity of the Holy Spirit so that we can be encouraged that God is about a good work in the earth, even in the midst of all the war and hatred.

2 Kings 6:16-17

16“Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” 17Then Elisha prayed, “O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!” The LORD opened his servant’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.

My prayer is that we would see more than ever what the Holy Spirit is doing in 2024.  In doing so, we would hear the Holy Spirit’s voice and know the Father’s will for our lives in this new year. May we be emboldened to respond to the Holy Spirit as Mary the mother of Jesus was when the angel of God spoke to her about becoming pregnant with the baby Jesus. May we become pregnant with the will of God as the Lord moves throughout the earth in 2024. May we become pregnant with the vision God has for many coming to Christ the savior in 2024!

Luke 1:37-38

37For nothing is impossible with God.”38Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant, and I am willing to accept whatever he wants. May everything you have said come true.” And then the angel left.

May this coming year be an amazing year of growth in our individual lives and in the lives of the people we meet,

Pastor Dale
